ANA Acquires IATA CEIV Lithium Battery Recertification

In 2024, All Nippon Airways (ANA) became the first Japanese airline to obtain the CEIV Lithium Batteries certification - an international quality certification for the transport of lithium batteries issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has now successfully acquired recertification.

Against the backdrop of the rapid proliferation of electric vehicles and growing demand for AI, the global supply chain and transportation demand for lithium batteries are expanding further. While lithium batteries are widely used as an essential energy source supporting a sustainable society, concerns are also mounting regarding the risk of fire or damage resulting from improper handling, making the establishment of a safe and robust international logistics management system a top priority.

ANA will continue to strive for quality improvement so that we can provide even safer and more reliable services for the transport of lithium batteries, which requires proper handling under a sophisticated safety management system.
