Changi Airport’s operating indicators for Q3 2026

Singapore Changi Airport handled 574,000 tonnes of airfreight in the third quarter of 2026, marking an 8.0% increase compared with the same period last year. The growth was driven by healthy demand across both export and import flows, particularly for shipments of AI-related semiconductors and electronics.

China, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and India were Changi Airport’s largest cargo markets during the quarter, reflecting continued demand across key global trade lanes.

The growth in airfreight throughput comes amid rising demand for technology-related shipments, with AI infrastructure and electronics continuing to support air cargo volumes. The performance highlights Changi Airport’s role as a key regional and international cargo hub connecting major manufacturing centres and consumer markets.

Commenting on the quarter’s performance, Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President for Air Hub and Cargo Development at Changi Airport Group, said that the airport remains focused on working with industry partners to strengthen connectivity, develop promising routes and pursue new opportunities to reinforce Changi’s position as a leading global air hub.

While airlines continue to navigate elevated fuel costs and other operational pressures, robust demand for airfreight, particularly in AI-related semiconductor and electronics shipments, supported cargo growth during the quarter.
