CEVA Logistics boosts Asia Pacific-U.S. air cargo

CEVA Logistics is strengthening its controlled air capacity along critical transpacific trade lanes with a new air charter program connecting Hanoi (HAN), Vietnam, to Chicago (ORD), alongside a renewal of its successful Wuxi (WUX), China, to Chicago route launched in 2025.

To optimize inbound distribution efficiency, these charters leverage Chicago’s strategic position as one of North America’s key logistics hubs. Shipments will be processed through CEVA’s advanced Chicago gateway. Located just minutes from ORD, the 700,000-square-foot multi-function facility features 350,000 square feet of dedicated freight space, an 8,000-square-foot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and a 6,000-square-foot, dual-chamber cold storage unit. As a Certified Cargo Screening Facility equipped with ETD, x-ray, and K-9 inspection capabilities, the gateway streamlines customs clearance and destination trucking to significantly reduce end-to-end transit times.

In addition, in line with CEVA’s commitment to sustainable logistics, customers using these transpacific routes can opt for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and additional carbon reduction pathways through CEVA’s FORPLANET suite of logistics offerings.

Operating three times per week with a Boeing 777 full freighter, the HAN-ORD service provides same-day departure and arrival, supporting customers in the high tech, industrial, retail and e-commerce sectors. The new charter offers global manufacturers in Vietnam’s expanding industrial and technology clusters a dependable long-haul solution into the U.S. market with predictable capacity, fast transit times and seamless integration into CEVA’s global network.

Loic Gay, vice president of global air and ocean operations at CEVA Logistics, said: "We continue to strategically expand our controlled air network along key transpacific trade lanes to guarantee our customers access to reliable and resilient capacity. The launch of our new Hanoi charter directly addresses the rapid growth of Vietnam as a desired manufacturing hub, while the return of our popular Wuxi service supports our customers’ needs for transpacific supply chain stability. By leveraging CMA CGM Air Cargo’s capabilities, alongside our Chicago gateway, we are delivering the end-to-end speed, security and flexibility that our customers need."
