AIA Cargo have announced a change in executive leadership – Effective 16th July, it will begin a handover period leading to a change in AIA leadership. Upon its conclusion, Mark Andrew will step down from his role as CEO of AIA. We extend our sincere thanks for his service and the contributions he made over his 17-year tenure. Under his leadership, AIA has grown, developed, and become a significant player in the GSA market in the UK and abroad. We are grateful for his professional management, dedication, and commitment.
We are pleased to announce that Giuseppe Tarantini will take the role as AIA’s new Chief Executive Officer. Giuseppe, who was born in Italy and educated in Switzerland, brings us accumulated experience from different angles in the cargo field. His first job in the aviation sector was with Swissair Cargo in Milan, where he held various leadership roles across Europe for over 15 years. His international career continued with South African Airways for 17 years, and his last role there was the general manager of Europe. Then he moved to key positions at CMA CGM Air Cargo and Air France KLM, where he was part of the global key account team. In early 2024, he brought his extensive airline experience to dnata, gaining valuable insight into the industry from a service partner perspective.
“I wasn’t actively looking for a new role, but this opportunity felt like a natural next step,” Giuseppe told us, and “I'm honoured by the trust placed in me and excited to contribute to AIA’s continued success, working closely with the team, customers, and business partners”.
“We are confident that Giuseppe will bring fresh perspectives, strong leadership, and a clear vision to guide the AIA Group through our next chapter of stability, growth, and innovation.”
