Icelease orders more Boeing Converted Freighters

Boeing and aircraft lessor Icelease are expanding their Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) partnership with an agreement to purchase one Boeing 767-300BCF, with options for two additional aircraft.

The agreement was signed on October 22, 2026, at the Cargo Facts Symposium in Nashville. Since 2021, Icelease has placed orders for 11 Boeing Converted Freighters, all of which were previously 737-800BCF models. The latest agreement marks Icelease’s first order for the 767-300BCF and highlights continued demand for the converted widebody freighter.

Under the agreement, Boeing Global Services will provide the engineering support and parts kits required for the aircraft modifications. The conversions will be carried out at ST Engineering’s airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities in Singapore.

Work on the conversion programme is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with delivery of the newly converted freighter expected in the second quarter of the year.

“Icelease is an important partner for our Boeing Converted Freighter program, and this agreement underlines our continued collaboration to meet global cargo demand. The 767-300BCF is a proven performer in the cargo industry, and we are confident it will continue to deliver value for many years to come,” said Lindsey Douglas, Vice President, Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance and Digital Services at Boeing.

“This agreement with Boeing to convert up to three Boeing 767 aircraft marks an important milestone for both Icelease and our Dublin-based sister company IAT Leasing. The history between Icelease and Boeing dates back more than 20 years and includes a multitude of new aircraft deliveries as well as cargo conversions. The converted Boeing 767s will join the growing managed cargo aircraft portfolio of IAT Leasing, which already includes seven Boeing 737BCF aircraft and other freighters leased to various customers,” said Sigthor Einarsson, Managing Partner, Icelease.
